Sod Installation

Burloak Sod & Mulch provides professional sod installations for residential and commercial properties. Whether you have bare soil or an existing lawn that needs to be removed, our team prepares the ground and installs fresh sod efficiently, giving you a healthy, mature lawn in as little as one day.

We exclusively install locally grown Kentucky Bluegrass sod that is harvested and delivered the same day. Residential installations are available in Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Mississauga, Hamilton, and surrounding areas. Commercial services extend throughout the Greater Toronto, Hamilton, and Niagara areas.

Sod Removal

We handle the complete removal and disposal of your lawn with the right equipment for the job.

Soil & Grading

Finely screened topsoil is delivered, spread, and graded to create a smooth, level lawn.

Fresh Cut Sod

Locally grown Kentucky Bluegrass sod is harvested and delivered the same day for fresh, green results.

Sod Installation

Our professional crew lay the rolls in a staggered pattern, trims, and rolls the newly laid sod.

Sod Installation Process

Remove existing lawn with sod cutter or skid steer, haul and dispose off-site.
Deliver and spread screened topsoil to allow proper rooting base for sod.
Grade away from foundation, ensure proper drainage and an even surface.
Apply starter fertilizer to promote quick and healthy root development.
Deliver local, same-day harvested Kentucky Bluegrass or Tall Fescue sod rolls.
Install sod in a staggered pattern, trim garden beds, hardscape, driveway, etc.
Compact the sod with a roller and tamper to remove air pockets.
Water immediately and deeply, ensuring the soil layer below is moist.
Cleanup the jobsite and remove any leftover debris from property.
Explain the watering schedule and how to care for your newly sodded lawn.

While I asked for quotes from multiple companies, what stood out was the timely, professional communication with the Burloak team. There was a weather delay to start, communicated professionally and easily, and once the job began I happened to be on site. The detail and quality was there (this is my first year having someone do this instead of doing it myself so I am picky and skeptical!), and clean. They ensured there was no mess left behind. Oh, and they closed the gate at the side afterwards so our dog did not have any risk. (Unlike another company who came by for a quote and left it open*).
